You can contribute one or more food items for our next serving day and/or assist with reheating or serving the meal. Our next serving day is Monday, August 13th at 5 pm (the second Monday of every month). As always, please keep in your prayers this ministry of love and everyone who it touches.

Community Needs
A family moving into Section 8 housing is in need of $190, and any contributions would be a blessing.  Contact Rev. MacHugh (Pastor Pat).
Another for a family needs two beds for two teenage boys, if anyone knows of any available furniture please reach out to Pastor Pat.

Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON)
Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON), an United Methodist Church affiliated ministry that provides vital legal services to immigrants, will open a new legal clinic in Lowell beginning Sept. 1 where it will focus on providing aid for local children. Another immigration attorney has already been hired to oversee this location and volunteers, who make up most of the critical staffing needs in all of JFON’s offices throughout the nation, are in dire need for the Lowell location.

The Lowell clinic needs immediate help to coordinate and oversee each monthly walk-in, open clinic dates. Help is also needed with hospitality, childcare, fundraising, Spanish to English translation, and the housing of children. The next organizational meeting will be held at the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church, which is the home church of Rev. Wendell Luke, on August 15 at 7:00 p.m.

With JFON offices well established in Woburn and Springfield, Lowell marks the third clinic that will open in Massachusetts. A fourth office is scheduled for opening in Lawrence for later this year to meet the surging needs for legal representation for the immigrants. Extensive training is provided for all volunteers.
Anyone interested in attending this meeting or in volunteering should speak with Richard Lee.

Summer Service Reminder.
For the months of July and August, Sunday Worship will start at 9:30 am.
