Why not come to church this Sunday and celebrate the birth of the one who made Christmas possible.  After all, if the choice is between staying home and unwrapping presents or going to church to celebrate our savior's birth, what do you think Jesus would have us do?

Putting Lives Back Together - Cleaning Supplies for Louisiana Flood Victims: Our Bishop Devadhar is pleading for us to provide much needed clean up supplies for flood victims in Louisiana.
Families like Paige and Brady Wax, a young couple at First UMC Baton Rouge, need our help. They are expecting their first child in February, and only escaped from their home by driving through water that was already up to the windows of Paige’s Jeep.

But they are working to clean up after the devastation. "I told someone today that I have been really lucky because I get to see the face of God every day in the people he sent to us. I know we are going to be OK,” Paige said.

WUMC has been asked for giant 5 gallon buckets packed full with the 15 different items most needed to clean up from mud and sewage.

So... this Sunday, please help families put their lives back together. Prayerfully consider you and your family donating $50 for a giant bucket of clean up supplies, or $25 to pay for half the cost, which we'll then use to buy the items in bulk and pack as many buckets as we can. Bring a check payable to "Weston UMC" with the notation "Cleaning Buckets".

Contact Carole Kerr who is leading this effort if you have any questions.
