On Thursday May 10, the Staff Parish Relations Committee met with Rev. Rene Perez to meet Rev. Dr. Pat MacHugh, who will become our new Pastor on August 1, 2018.
Rev MacHugh was born in Bethlehem, PA, attended Concord Carlisle High School, and graduated from the University of Maine with a BA in speech communication.  She returned to the University of Maine and earned a Masters in Communication Disorders, and worked as a Speech and Language Pathologist before finally answering God’s call to ministry.  She graduated from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio in 1985, was ordained an elder in the New England Conference in 1988 and received her Doctor of Ministry from Bangor Theological Seminary in 2003.
She has served as a United Methodist pastor for 5 churches in Northern Maine, and local churches in Williamstown and North Adams, MA before returning to Northern Maine as District Superintendent in 2008.  For the past two years, she has served as the pastor of The Church of the Cape, in Cape Porpoise, Kennebunkport, Maine.  Her sermons are posted each week on YouTube so they are available to those unable to attend worship.
Pat is married to Bob Duane, a special education teacher and they have five adult children and two grandchildren.
